Megha Transport started with three trucks on the Kolkata–Delhi route in 2009. We now run a 100+ vehicle fleet with 500+ delivery points across multiple cities — still answering the phone ourselves.
Megha Transport was founded in Howrah in 2009 by Dinesh Das, a former fleet supervisor who was tired of watching shipments get lost between four different middlemen. The idea was simple: one company, one waybill, one phone number to call when something needs to change mid-route.
Sixteen years later, that's still the pitch. We've added GPS tracking, a wider multi-axle fleet and a 24/7 dispatch desk, but every shipment still moves through people who've spent time on a loading dock, not just a spreadsheet.

"I started Megha Transport because I was tired of shipments disappearing between middlemen with no one to call. Sixteen years and 100+ trucks later, that's still the job — move freight on time, tell the truth about delays, and make sure someone always picks up the phone. Every rule we run this company on was written on the back of a bad day at the loading dock, not in a boardroom."
To be the carrier Indian businesses trust with their most time-critical freight — known as much for honesty about delays as for on-time delivery.
Move every load through people who've worked a loading dock — with a live GPS trail and a dispatcher who answers the phone.
Printed and pinned above the dispatch desk since 2014 — the rules every booking gets checked against.
We quote transit times we can actually hit, not the number that wins the booking.
E-way bills and paperwork handled upfront, not chased after the truck's already gone.
A dispatcher answers exceptions around the clock — no ticket queue.
If a truck is trackable, the shipper can see it. No calling in for updates.
Watch the truck make the run — each stop is a real milestone from our sixteen years on the road.
